The Firm

Personalization comes standard

Chevelon Capital Management believes your unique life experiences and distinctive ongoing needs deserve their own financial roadmap. While CCM graciously serves a diverse group of individuals and entities, there is one prevalent necessity that is shared across the entire client base: an investment advisory firm with critical insight and differentiated experience operating as your trustworthy fiduciary who acts solely with your best interests in mind.

Chris Hanrahan

Founder

A seasoned investment manager, Chris Hanrahan began his career as a research analyst at a Los Angeles based, short-only hedge fund. From there he moved to New York City to work as an analyst at Sigma Capital Management, a wholly owned hedge fund subsidiary of SAC Capital Advisors (now Point72). He then made the jump to portfolio manager at hedge fund Balyasny Asset Management in New York and San Francisco, where he ultimately managed more than $500 million. During that time, he spent numerous years interacting with senior management teams spanning various industries, from small to large capitalization public companies — performing company site visits, investor tours, and engaging in large numbers of investor conferences. His extensive experience as a fundamental research analyst has demonstrated a proficiency in financial statement scrutiny and quality of earnings deficiencies. He received his MBA in Finance from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona, majoring in Finance.

Chevelon was incepted when Chris noticed how it was becoming common industry practice to place clients in standard, cookie-cutter portfolios. He observed that individuals were often times being placed in portfolios that were ubiquitous, irrespective of the fact that each individual may possess varying preferences, tastes, objectives, and ideas. Of particular importance, he noticed that many of these investment products were laden with excess fees. Chris believed he could possibly do better for his clients not only by applying his noteworthy experience to potentially create compelling investment solutions, but also by applying his ethos and integrity to create lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
